Why most people never see it
Outside Ulaanbaatar, the map runs out. Tracks fork across the grass with no signpost and no name. There are no rental cars worth trusting on them, and outside the capital almost no one speaks English. The ger camps that make a trip possible book out weeks ahead, and you can't find them without knowing the family who runs them.
So most travellers either skip the country or hand a distant agency the planning. We offer a direct conversation with the family who will guide and drive the journey.

How booking works
No wire transfer to a bank you've never heard of. No prepayment to a company you'll never meet. You meet us in person when you arrive in Mongolia, we agree the final trip plan together, and you pay in cash — half before we set off, half on the last day back in Ulaanbaatar.

I write back myself — not an autoresponder — with a tailored plan, your packing list, what the weather is actually doing that week, where to meet, and answers to whatever you ask.

We are not a tour company with a Mongolia department. We are a father and daughter with one truck, who happen to live where you want to go.
Honest questions
We'd rather you explore the routes, choose your dates, and commit without financial pressure. When you arrive in Mongolia we meet in person and discuss the final trip plan together before we start. You pay in cash — 50% before we set off, and the remaining 50% on the last day, when we're back in Ulaanbaatar. The trust runs both ways.
Included: your guide (Anji), your driver (Nima), the 4x4 and all fuel, and real time with the nomadic families we know. Not included: flights, food, accommodation, and entrance fees — you pay those yourself, which keeps the price honest and lets you eat and explore on your own terms. Anji arranges the ger-hotels along the way; you settle them on-site with the locals.

Yes. Nima drives every trip, and I usually come along as your guide and translator. If you'd rather run your own plan, you can book the same trip driver-only — just Nima and the 4x4 — and I'll help you shape the route by email before you arrive.
Ger-hotels and family gers — felt tents with beds, a stove, and shared washing. Comfortable, not luxurious. We know the ger-hotels in each direction and book them on the way; you pay on-site with the locals. On some nights in the deep country it's a herding family's spare ger. That's the trip, not a downgrade.
Not in the countryside — ger-hotels and family stays have no online booking system, and that's normal in Mongolia, not a gap in the plan. We know the places along every route and call ahead a day or two before we arrive. You never need a reservation, and you pay on-site.
Due to the rough nature of Mongolian roads, average speeds on unpaved tracks are typically 40–50 km/hr. We recommend using Maps.me for offline navigation and carrying Mongolian Tugrik (MNT) for all local expenses.
You need to be able to sit through long days of rough driving, walk on uneven ground, and go without a shower for a day or two. There's optional walking and horse-riding. You do not need to be an athlete.
June through September. Outside those months the tracks are impassable, the camps close, and it is genuinely dangerous cold. Tell us your preferred month and flight window; we will confirm exact dates personally.
